Penafsiran Tanda-tanda Laut melalui Pemaknaan Hari dalam Naskah Melayu-Aceh Koleksi Teuku Nurdin Aceh Utara

Abstract

Maritime Culture becomes an integral part of the culture of the people of Aceh, especially those who living at the coastal areas. The concern of the Acehese for their marine environment is also found in the Acehnese manuscript. One of the source that reflecting this maritime culture for the Acehnese people can be found in the Teuku Nurdin collection. The manuscript containing the sea signs and their interpretation, for the people who want to sail and earn a living by observing the good or bad days indicated in the text. The author makes an analysis with reference to the events experienced by some prophets in the past, such as the prophet Jonah and Moses. This paper attempts to describe the contents of manuscripts that provide an information about the good days in their relation to sea signs that should be observed more carefully by sailors and fishermen. The analysis will also describe the associated coastal cultural history that has developed in Acehnese society. Therefore, the philology-related approach to the study of textual texts and history became an important task to be done in this study. The author expected to reveal the meanings and functions of ocean signs, from the different points of view.

Budaya Bahari menjadi bagian tidak terpisahkan dari budaya masyarakat Aceh, khususnya yang hidup di pesisir. Perhatian masyarakat terhadap lingkungan mereka yang diwarnai dengan laut juga ditemukan dalam naskah Aceh. Salah satu bentuk kepedulian masyarakat Aceh yang ditemukan dalam naskah Aceh koleksi Teuku Nurdin adalah menafsirkan tanda-tanda laut yang diperkenankan untuk berlayar dan mencari nafkah di laut dengan menelaah hari-hari yang dianggap baik dan tidak baik. Penulis naskah membuat analisis dengan mengacu kepada kejadian-kejadian yang dialami oleh beberapa Nabi pada masa lampau, seperti Nabi Yunus dan Nabi Musa. Tulisan ini mencoba memaparkan isi naskah yang memberi informasi terkait hari-hari baik dan hubungannya dengan tanda-tanda laut yang patut dicermati lebih hati-hati oleh pelaut dan nelayan. Analisa juga akan menguraikan terkait sejarah budaya pesisir yang berkembang pada masyarakat Aceh. Karena itu, pendekatan Filologi terkait kajian teks naskah dan Sejarah untuk memahami sejarah budaya setempat menjadi hal yang penting dilakukan dalam studi ini. Studi ini diharapkan dapat mengungkap kebermanfaatan tanda-tanda di laut sebagai sumber daya dari berbagai sudut pandang.
